To the federal government, the real dirty laundry is the physical toll from picking up those towels and everything that goes into work as a hotel housekeeper.

After performing a series of hotel inspections, the federal agency that oversees workplace safety has sent a rareletter to the Hyatt Corporation recommending that the hotelier take some basic precautions to protect its housekeepers from ergonomic injuries.

March 22, 2012 - 48 campus dining workers at California Lutheran University have voted to unionize and join UNITE HERE Local 11. Food service workers at the Thousand Oaks, CA school, outside of Los Angeles, are employees of the multinational food service company Sodexo. Workers voted overwhelmingly on March 21st to join the union.
